In the Netherlands Genealogy Index there are alternate spellings of Nicholas' first (Nicolaus*) and last name (Hoemans and Haymanns).  There is also an alternate spelling of Jacoba's last name (Sponk).  For this tree, the last name spellings found the most in recorded genealogical records were used.  It seems that our generation's "Hooyman" lastname version morphed over time quite a lot in both Germany and the Netherlands even before John Jacob Hooyman came to America in 1865.
