Home Year in Pictures Vacations House Projects Biographies Family Tree Fridge Gallery Christmas Letters

Our Steffens Family Pages website contains a genealogical history of the Steffens / Hooyman / Jenkins-Rankins / Turpeinen-Nayho family trees dating back over 400 years with hundreds of heirloom pictures and biographies of our parents and many of ancestors.  Some of the biographies I've written up date back over 200 years.

The website was also effectively an electronic scrap book of our lives displaying thousands of captioned pictures of our friends, our adventures together, projects, and my/our annual Christmas letters for the last 30+ years.  Until 2016, I added to website annually mainly for my mother and brothers to keep up with our family adventures.  Since 2010, Facebook has been a medium for our immediate postings of pictures, so our Facebook account albums have much of the same pictures in a larger format.

I hope to redesign the website with a 1200 pixel wide format now that I am retired.  The website design was last changed in 2003 back when most PC monitors were smaller and 600x800 pixels was a standard screen resolution.  In the redesign I also hope to make it so our cousins can contribute to the Family Tree (genealogical) section with their pictures and family information.  Time will tell how motivated I am to make all that a reality.

The "Year in Pictures" section became a way to share our years activities in pictures with everyone and it contains pictures all the way back to 1997 BK (before kids).  In the "Vacations" section we've posted the best photos of our vacations (many with friends) dating back to 1989.  We always have a house project going on, the more elaborate ones are displayed in the "House Projects" section.  The "Fridge Gallery" had posts of our friends and families pictures sent to us with their annual Christmas cards many which often ended up on our refrigerator, but it hasn't been updated for many years now.

I stop maintaining the "Year in Pictures", "Vacations", "House Projects" and "Christmas Letters" sections in 2016 after the death of my mother, God bless her sweet soul.  I will kick all that back in when I get the website redesigned.  In the meantime all our "family" related pictures and adventures are regularly posted on Facebook.  I still keep the "Family Tree" section updated with the latest family historical info I can find, so please check that out if you are at all interested in stuff like that.

If you would like to contact us for any reason, e-mail me and I promise to get back to you!  We love to hear from our family, friends and distant cousins, so please stay in touch and let us know how things are going on your end of the Internet!
