Anna Maria Sophia (Peelen) Hooijman Saturday, March 24, 1894 Mrs. Johanna Antonius Hooyman, age 76, died in Freedom.  A few days before Ash Wednesday she came down with the flu, then another sickness, and finally a sickness of 6 weeks.  The deceased was born in Het Loo, Gelderland, Netherlands, and came 28 years ago to America, where the family settled in Freedom.  She left a spouse and 9 children.  The children are; Frank, Theodore and John, all married in Freedom, 3 sons and 1 daughter at home, Mrs. Jacobus Jansen (Johanna) of Little Chute, and Maria, already 10 years housekeeper for Pastor Smitz of DePere.  Burial Tuesday March 27 from St. Nicolas Church in Freedom.
