At the top of the gondola ride was a very nice lodge nestled on
the ridge of a valley surrounded by peaks (skiers would call this
a "bowl")
We hiked down into the lush valley, which was quite a contrast
from the brown, dry Palm Springs city area
The temps up here were in the 50° range ... in the city it was
in the 90°s
