Hawaii (the Big Island) is known for it's active volcano, Kilauea, which is constantly reshaping the island and adding to it's coastline.  One evening we hiked down to were the lava meets the sea ... it was a spectacular light show with waves glowing with chunks of molten lava floating on them as it washes into the ocean.
