With slate green base coat down and dark gray release powder broadcast over the entire surface of steps, Ray pounds in the slate texture on all surfaces vertical and horizontal.  The release powder serves two purposes ... it keeps the rubber texture pattern stamp from sticking to the slate green colored concrete surface and it pounds the dark gray color into the creases and crevices of the slate texture.  Later when the dark gray powder is lightly acid washed off, this will provide a beautiful variety of slate green and dark gray color gradations (see finished picture) in the textured concrete surface.
