Instead of using standard pre-made joists, we wanted a steeper
roof on the garage to match the angles on the house. We
would also add a peak in the front to accentuate that matching the house peak.
I had a contractor friend help me with this part.
We would make the roof out of 2x6s and in the center it would
measure about 6 and a half feet tall internally. I would add
an attic ladder in the ceiling of the garage and use this massive
space for storage.
