Here is a look out from the hallway in the back half of the
house into the dining and living room areas. On the left
are doors to the basement (open) and to the attic (hidden behind
opened basement door. On the right is the door to the
bathroom and not shown are the door to the linen closet, and
behind me are the two bedrooms.

I meticulously stripped four layers of paint off all the door
trim and doorjams and had all the doors "dipped" at a
local refinishing place for the entire back half of the house. I then sanded all the
trim, doorjams and doors smooth and stained them to match the mahogany in
the front half of the house ... an incredible amount of work,
but the end result looked great and was well worth the effort.! |
