Who puts carpet in a bathroom?  The toilet room at least had vinyl flooring.  The carpeting was in sad shape and was what finally tipped the scales on making the decision to do the remodel. About 8 years back I built the maple shelf in the toilet room and mounted a medicine cabinet over it.  That and the vanity cabinet base would be the only things to survive the remodel.
