I had never tiled before so I took the opportunity to design and tile a shower in the basement bathroom. This started with an octagonal PVC shower base that I bought and plumbed into the main water drain pipe to the street.  Over the walls I added "greenboard" and tile backer board.  I took me a week to get all the tile cut and glued in place before grouting it all.  Notice the inlaid tile shelf I built into the shower for shampoo, razors and soap.
