2014, my "Year from Hell", starts out with a bang when my ladder drops out from under me while taking the last of our Christmas lights off the house.  With my right arm above the gutter scooping leaf debris off the roof at the time, it was slammed back behind my head and then against the side of the house on the way down.  The result was a severe shoulder dislocation requiring an ambulance ride to the Evergreen Hospital ER.  I would have it operated on 2½ months later, requiring 6 months of physical therapy, and I just found out that I will need a second surgery in early 2015 to repair what did not heal properly.

In late February, a week before the shoulder surgery, I had a kidney stone drop on me which had me in my second ambulence ride of the year once again in to the Evergreen ER.  The stone wouldn't pass, so I had to have it laser blasted out 4 days later.  All the meds I was on for that and the shoulder surgery I had a few days later threw my body chemistry completely out of whack, and I'd end up in the ER 2 more times in the next 2 weeks suffering from dehydration and depression.

In June I found out that I had a patch of skin cancer on my face that had to be surgically removed and a second patch on my back that was just removed in October.  Bad things are said to happen in threes, so I think that this has got to be it for the year.  No so this time.

My Mother passed away in mid-October, just 2 weeks after I had visited her in Appleton for 4 days in late September.  This truly has not been a year I care to remember!
